Interim Chief Executive Officer Chris Blackwell

Chris Blackwell recently became Interim Chief Executive Officer for the Reducing Reoffending Partnership, bringing a wealth of experience in delivering public services.

“Our biggest asset is the deep passion, expertise and knowledge we have within the Reducing Reoffending Partnership. For this reason I am confident we can succeed together,” said Chris Blackwell. “Everyone is so busy and the pace of change and associated challenges means we sometimes don’t get a chance to stop and reflect on our successes. But it is important that we take time out to recognise and celebrate the successes that are happening in our organisation every single day.”

Chris started his career as a frontline employment advisor working with highly disadvantaged individuals, helping them return to work after long-term unemployment. He then managed services for people with health conditions and disabilities, including as part of the largest New Deal programme for disabled people in the country.

For the past ten years Chris has worked in senior leadership roles helping to deliver public services. He was the Chief Operating Officer at Ingeus from 2009–12, when he oversaw delivery of the government’s Work Programme, managing 1,600 staff across the UK. From 2012-15, Chris was the UK Managing Director for MAXIMUS, which grew from 300 employees to over 3,000.

Before embarking on his career, Chris graduated in philosophy at Nottingham University and spent several years working overseas teaching English and volunteering in India, Japan and south-east Asia.
