Resettlement Case Worker (REQ 0784)


Full Time, 37 hrs per week



Starting salary £22,580 (within Band 3, £22,580 – £28,063)


Location: HMP Ranby and HMP Nottingham

SWM/DLNR CRC Resettlement Services aspires to be the best in the country at delivering resettlement activities with prisoners in custody, to reduce their reoffending and to aid their transition into their communities on release.  We currently have a case worker vacancy in HMP Nottingham.

You will work within the existing Resettlement Team alongside managers and other case worker colleagues. Successful applicants will focus on the delivery of a range of activities in custody which include:

  • Multi-agency working with prison staff, partner organisations and community Offender Managers to ensure access can be gained to prisoners within scope and that the right interventions are delivered to the right people, at the right time.
  • Completion of the Basic Custody Screening Tool 2 in OASys on all receptions into the prison, to identify immediate needs that may need addressing at that point
  • Review the BCST2 resettlement plan with the prisoner no later than 12 weeks prior to release, to develop and put in place a coordinated pre-release plan and activity.
  • Develop the 6 key pathways; accommodation, ETE, debt and finance and support services for previous sex workers and victims of domestic abuse including victims of sexual violence.
  • Ensure all required processes are embedded, key partnerships are in place and all offenders are supported ‘Through the Gate’.
  • Embed systems to ensure all relevant prisoners are engaging in resettlement activity 12 weeks prior to release.
  • Establish an effective and beneficial partnership between the CRC and the prison.
  • Be part of the development and potential delivery of additional services through workshop/group work based interventions with service users within the prison.

These posts allow scope for innovation, creativity and involvement in shaping and embedding this new exciting Service. This provides a real opportunity to be part of the CRCs developing response to how we work with prisoners by providing a ‘seamless service’ through the gate.

Possible evening and weekend work may be required.
